Meet Hannah
Writer, Adventurer & Marine Conservationist
Hey, I’m Hannah, and I’m crazy about our planet. Travelling the world shouldn’t have to mean destroying it. Growing up in rural England, I was obsessed with travel documentaries and yearned to explore life off the beaten path. I had an innate craving to witness the world’s melting pot of culture through my own eyes. I’m passionate about uncovering travel that gives back to local communities. Wanderlust and writing are my fuel.
But that’s not all I do. As a marine scientist specialising in sharks, and a firm believer in Planet Ocean, all my works centres on bringing together people and the planet. I’m fascinated by how we interact with the ocean and how we can promote exploring the globe slowly and sustainably. Forging a connection with the natural world is often the spark we need to inspire its conservation.
I wear many hats. From being a shark scientist with Shark Hub UK to writing my first book Britain’s Living Seas: Our Coastal Wildlife and How We Can Save It , working in recreational fisheries policy for the Angling Trust, to presenting on shows like Discovery Channel’s Strange Evidence and being an invited expert to speak on international media platforms like the BBC. I’m a dynamic person and don’t believe in limiting myself to only one area of interest. Diversity is the spice of life and I am passionate about championing more inclusivity and representation in the environmental movement.
We’re living in decisive times, change-making times. We are one part of this incredible planet and it’s time we decided to live at one with nature, rather than against it.
