Hello! I’m Hannah and I am a writer, scientific communicator and ocean advocate.
Recently I have become a Natural Sciences BSc (Hons) graduate from Lancaster University and currently I am a postgraduate, studying MSc Marine Environmental Management at the University of York. Alongside my blog, I am also a freelance writer for other publications and I want to branch out into broadcasting in the future.
I adore our seas and I’m committed to protecting them, and inspiring others to appreciate their value through education and outreach. You can find out more about me here .
My infatuation with our oceans has taken me on adventures overseas, from the mangroves of the Florida Keys to swimming with loggerhead turtles in the tropical waters of the Cabo Verde islands. Last summer I cage-dived with white sharks in Gansbaai, South Africa, volunteering to improve scientific communication focussed on shark conservation.
My next trip will be to the Maldives with the Maldives Whale Shark Research Programme in March & April 2019 and from July to September 2019 I will be back in South Africa with White Shark Projects conducting my MSc research.
I have also recently been selected to be one of six women working with the South African Shark Conservancy as part of their Women in Shark Science program.
